The City School

Arriving and leaving, calmly.

The start and end of the day go well when everyone knows the rhythm. Here is how drop-off and hometime run at The City School, and who may collect your child.

The rhythm of the day
AM
Morning drop-off
Bring your child to the gate in the morning and a member of staff walks them in. Your class teacher confirms the exact times for your child's year group.
PM
Hometime
At the end of the day, children are collected from the gate at hometime. Times differ by year group, so your class teacher confirms exact times with you.
When times change
On the last day of a term, hometime is earlier: this year it is 11:30 for K1 and K2, and 12:00 for Y1 to Y6. Any other change is posted on the status page and shared by your campus.
Who can collect your child
Authorisation lanyards
Your child is released only to an adult carrying an ELC authorisation lanyard for your family. The office issues the lanyards and keeps the record of who holds one, so every person at the gate is one we expect.
Adding or changing a collector
To add a new collector, even for one day, contact the office and they will arrange the lanyard and update the record.

Getting to school

This page is for The City School. Arrival at other campuses works a little differently, and your campus office confirms the details for you.
