Armonia · Technology

Making, not just using.

Technology here means making, code and robotics as tools for ideas. Children move from using technology to building with it, designing things that respond to what they imagine.

What a session feels like
Build, test, build again.
In technology sessions children move from using technology to making with it, designing and building things that respond to their ideas. Children at ELC already work this way. A Year 3 class sketched robot designs in their notebooks, then worked together to code a real robot's movements, and children in the rewilding project designed and built machines that answered real needs they had noticed in the school garden. It rarely works the first time, and that is the point: children read what went wrong, change one thing and build again.
