Languages of thought.
In expressive languages, children explore their ideas through drawing, painting and building, treating each material as another language for thinking. They work with real materials and real tools, and a piece can carry over many sessions until it says what they mean.
What a session feels like
A studio, not an art lesson.
Children choose a material and get to work: clay, wire, paint, light, paper, found objects. The adult watches closely and asks the next question rather than showing the answer. Children work in small groups and return to their work week after week, so a drawing or a build has time to grow until it carries the meaning they intend.
